WESTLAKE Westlake has long been viewed as Austin's most exclusive community. Home prices are, in many cases, the most expensive homes in all of Central Texas. Westlake is known for its beautiful rolling hills, but even more so for its dramatic Lake Austin views. Homes in the area tend to be very ornate and lavishly maintained. While architecture varies widely in the area, very few "fixer-upper" properties exist in the community, and most properties sell at top-dollar. The actual physical city known as West Lake Hills is only about 3,000 people strong, but generally, when people are referring to Westlake, it is an area that is physically larger than the actual city limits. Residents within this area are in the Eanes ISD, which traditionally is ranked as the top school district in Central Texas. |
